Boats > Boat Manufacturers
To simply say that Scout Boats is an innovative company would be a gross understatement. Under the guiding vision
of company President Steve Potts, Scout has earned a reputation for being on the cutting edge of design and quality. Consider just a few of the unique design features that make a Scout a Scout. It all starts with the in-house design team headed by Steve Potts.
Scout boats have had composite stringers and transoms. An additional innovation unique to Scout is the Air-Assist hull. Steve designed this unique feature specifically to combat the problem of static stability, common on small boats. With additional longitudinal buoyancy, the Air-Assist hull increases static floatation and decreases time to plane and also vastly improves overall handling characteristics. An important advantage of this design is increased fuel economy.
The engine mounting system on the 210 Sportfish and larger models, called the "Scout Strata-Mount" is a fully factory molded bracket with one very important feature: the two main longitudinal grid stringers pass through the transom and are integrated into the engine mount.
240 Bay Scout:
This versatile fishing machine exceeds every angler's demands. The 240 Bay Scout, with its remarkably shallow 11" draft and deep-V entry, allows you to reach any secluded fishing spot, while the 85-gallon fuel tank and dependable Yamaha engine provide the range to get there and back. This shallow water bullet also offers an optional tunnel hull that allows the 240 to run wide open in extremely shallow water. With a gigantic deck area featuring a non-skid surface unique to Scout and vast storage underneath, plus port and starboard locking rod storage and an enormous beam-width storage box, the 240 Bay Scout delivers the ultimate in fishing features.
190 Costa:
Scout's all-new 2005 190 Costa is the second model of an all-new series of flats fishing boats. World famous fly fisherman Stu Apte was intimately involved in the design. The 190 Costa can achieve speeds up to 50+ mph with a 150 hp Yamaha outboard, is extremely quiet and dry and features a particularly 'skinny' 10" draft. The 190 Costa also features an optional fully-integrated retractable bow casting platform, a unique design that provides anglers a sturdy, reliable, quickly deployable platform for elevating to the optimum casting angle. This model sports a convenient cooler positioned under the molded forward center console seat, ten carpeted side rod racks and vertical console rod racks and a flared bow to deflect spray.
